Alva Sachs
and many writers from a variety of genres and generations met
at the Bank of Books in Ventura, CA to discuss writing and the
many ways authors are working to get their stories published
to share with the reading and writing community.
This is the first time the California
Literary Arts Society held an event such as this.CLAS is
a non-profit group that promotes literacy and appreciation for
reading and writing through workshops, seminars, youth writing,
publishing programs, and the annual Ventura Book Festival usually
held in July, said Kay Wolverton Ito, the group's executive director.
Authors spoke in areas from the development of their stories, to
forms of publishing, as well as e-books and writing for youth in
today's marketplace, which Alva discussed during her presentation. |
